Building Codes in some municipalities require a sump pump so that the water does not go into their sewer system. Sump pumps operate on electricity so Benchmark Waterproofing recommends a battery-run backup for the system. You don’t want to find your sump pump fails during a thunderstorm when the power has gone out! We also recommend that your sump pump have an alarm.
